Growing bulbs with Joburg South Garden Club

Guest speaker at the September meeting of Johannesburg South garden Club was Paul Wilmans from Hadeco.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH –  Paul spoke all about bulbs; when is the best time to plant them, whereabouts in the garden they will be best suited and how to water them.

“Bulbs originated in Turkey although most people think it was Holland. Hadeco has eight farms in South Africa and we are always impressed with the regal beauty of flowers from bulbs.

“No matter if they are petite or of grand size, the rich coloured and textured blooms continue to captivate us each season, every year.

“Flowers grown from bulbs are undoubtedly among the most exciting plants we grow. Whether they are grown for indoor, patio or the garden, flower bulbs with their unique storage system and biological clocks are ready to perform delightful magic all the year round,” said Paul.

Hadeco sells a wide range of bulbs which are available at most garden centres locally.
