Five dead after building collapses in Meyersdal Eco Estate
Some people still trapped under rubble, with declared dead.
MEYERSDAL ECO ESTATE – Paramedics and other services are currently on the scene in Meyersdal Eco Estate, after a building collapsed.
When they arrived on scene they found multiple people were injured after a house, that is currently being built, collapsed on top of the people.
Some people are still trapped under the rubble and services are currently busy with a search and rescue operation to free the trapped people.
Several men have been injured and it’s been confirmed five are dead after a structural collapse in Meyersdal, Johannesburg South this morning.
Paramedics along with various emergency services on scene have treated eight patients, who have been transferred for treatment to a local private hospital.
Paramedics are still on the scene working to free the construction workers still trapped in the rubble.
The exact cause of the collapse is unclear at this stage. Exact detail to the cause of the incident and preceding events will remain the subject of an investigation.
