Suspected drug dealer arrested

A suspected drug dealer was apprehended by D&D Tactical on Wednesday morning August 6, at the Shell Garage on True North Road, Mulbarton.

MULBARTON – The suspect, an Indian male in his early twenties was found in possession of dagga and crystal methamphetamine (TIK) and a fake firearm. He was handed over to Mondeor SAPS.

A spokesperson from D&D Tactical said, “We received information earlier this week of drug activity at Mulbarton Shopping Centre involving Indian males. As a whole we have noted increased drug activity in the sector over the last year.

“We also have a situation where our neighbourhood is within walking distance of Turffontein and Rosettenville, which have high levels of drug activity. Increasingly we see youngsters from this area driving, and in some instances walking there to make drug purchases. Yesterday afternoon our patrollers were called out to assist a young resident with a drug dependency, who purchased his drugs from Nigerian gangs in Rosettenville. Apart from the tragic human cost drug dependency is also a major driver of housebreaking and theft crimes.

“Parents and friends of drug users please get help for users. Please report any and all drug activity. We need residents, especially the youth, to come forward with information about drug dealers in the area. All information is treated confidentially. Let’s keep our area clean.”
