CAT grows in numbers

After the initial CAT (Community Awareness Training) meeting in June, membership has grown.

GLENVISTA – “We are very excited membership is growing and to be an active group in the South is encouraging. Last month we held a Fire Prevention Awareness talk and we were asked to run it again due to how many fires there are during the winter months, “ said Sarah Wissler, organiser.

Robbie Taylor from Taylormade Fire Services was the guest speaker and showed once again how to use a fire extinguisher and fire blankets.

“Always call for help before attempting to extinguish a serious fire. The fire may take hold much faster that you are capable of dealing with it, and if help is on its way, it removes one less concern for you,” said Robbie.

Call, or have someone else call, 10111 or Kibler Park Fire Station 011 943 4276 in case of a fire.

If you are interested in attending CAT meetings phone Sarah Wissler 083 256 3453.
