Armed robberies in Glenvista and Bassonia

A house robbery in Copelia Avenue, Glenvista took place on Wednesday evening July 2.

GLENVISTA – A resident was in his garage fixing his car along with his two sons when they were approached by five African males who were armed.

The man and his one son were ordered to lie down and were tied up.

One of the sons was taken into the house by one of the suspects and the wife of the homeowner was forced to open the safe. The suspects took cash, jewellery, cellphones, a TV, laptop and two firearms, as well as a black Peugeot, registration YKT 432GP.

No injuries were sustained in the incident. No arrests or recoveries of the goods have been made.

On the same evening in Os Street, Bassonia a man was at home with his two sisters and domestic.

He heard a scream and went to investigate, where he found four African males with firearms. The two women and domestic were ordered to lie down and were tied up with shoe laces. The man was taken back upstairs.

The suspects made off with cash, jewellery, four laptops, as well as an Audi A3, registration YLW 620GP. No one was injured.

No arrests have yet been made and none of the stolen goods have been found.
