RIDGEWAY – According to two residents, one who was drawing money from an FNB ATM at Ridgeway Gardens, Ridgway, and another from an ATM in Rosettenville, they were both approached by strangers.
“My wife was trying to draw money from the FNB ATM at Ridgeway Gardens on Sunday May 19 at about 13:00 when an African male, average height and well-dressed came from behind her and began to press buttons on the ATM, saying the machine was too slow. After he walked away she inserted her bank card to draw money and she thought the machine took her card. As she left she phoned to cancel her card but money had already been taken,” he said.
The other incident was when a man attempting to draw money from an ATM in Rosettenville, was approached by a man who told him to cancel his transaction because he wanted to work on the ATM machine. The man drawing money thought this was suspicious and left the ATM with his card.
