Mount Pellan residents angry about state of area

“Paying for what?” Is the question some Glenvista residents are asking, especially those who live on Mount Pellan Drive, Glenvista.

GLENVISTA –  A resident who lives in Victorian Place said, “Our rates are sky high in this area and as far as I can see we get virtually nothing for it. At the back of our complex where the spruit runs, the trees and weeds are so overgrown we can’t even walk here anymore. It also poses a huge security risk to surrounding houses and pedestrians, as criminals can hide here.”

Another resident said, “Glenvista Country Club should also be made aware that from Mount Pellan Drive vagrants can access the golf course from the underground tunnel and then gain access onto our properties. Management should close off the entrance with palisade fencing to stop this.”

Overgrown land a cause for concern.

“We have complained to council about the state of the spruit and surrounding areas and logged calls but nothing is happening. This area is really neglected by City Parks and it’s about time something was done,” said another resident.
