Chop shop bust in Bassonia

A chop shop in Bassroyd Drive, Bassonia was bust on Friday morning March 7.

BASSONIA – Johannesburg CID detectives were called to the scene, acting on information received from a suspected hijacker.

The occupier of the house is likely to be charged with possession of stolen property and hijacking amongst other charges.

“On scene we saw various high end German motor vehicles including Porsche, Mercedes and BMW vehicles along with tracking equipment, car breaking implements, drugs and evidence of vehicles being stripped.

“One recent model black BMW still had fresh blood in the vehicle we assume from a recent hijacking,” said Mike Fontes, chairman of Glenvista Community Forum.

SAPS Dog Unit and detectives were also called to the scene to continue a search and investigate.
