OAKDENE – With the arrival of their certificate, Jimmy’s Killer Fish and Chips (JKFC) at Comaro Crossing is finally able to throw open their doors and arms, welcoming their Muslim customers.

“Since we opened, it has been our goal to ensure our kitchens and supply chains meet the requirements of the South Africa National Halaal Authority (SANHA). I am happy to announce that we are now officially Halaal,” general manager Xavier Francis says happily.

SANHA is one of the most respected non-profit Halaal Authorities in the world and was established to promote professionalism and excellence in the certification of Halaal food products. The organisation is one of the founding members of the World Halaal Council and enjoys international recognition from both Muslim countries and the broader global community.

“We wanted to work with SANHA, because their standards are simply the highest in the industry. We open our kitchens to three inspections by the council each week and our manager, Abdullah Chanya, is entrusted to ensure the highest standards of food preparation and services are kept at all times,” Xavier says.

“In the end this certification is good thing for everybody. It has always been our goal to treat all our valued customers with dignity and respect and to serve only the very best food, prepared in the most hygienic and safe environment. This Halaal certification is setting this commitment in stone.”
