Looking back over the year 2013

March came with its own ups and downs, here's a look back at everything that went down.

March

*Suspects caught in Glenvista. Over the past few weeks there have been numerous cases of housebreakings in Glenvista ext4 and surrounding areas.

*Blind faith for Xolile. Xolile Mdoko/ Wiseman (23) became blind at the age of two although doctors never knew how it happened; he described himself as independent and said he could do anything.

*Giant pumpkin competition. Green’s Greens and Living Seeds launched the Giant Pumpkin competition on September 1, 2012.

*Another Metro bus abandoned. Vorster Avenue, Glenvista is difficult enough to negotiate normally, with its bends and turns, but when a Metro bus is left abandoned on a bend the danger for motorist’s increases dramatically.

*Plight of feral cats in the south. Charlmaine Perrira, a Bassonia resident, began her journey of trying to help feral cats about two years ago, when she first heard about how many colonies there actually are locally.

*Compete for a good cause – Mr SA. Craig Eric Manson, a resident in the south is competing in the Mr SA competition with the hope of becoming Mr SA, improving charities and the Mr SA brand.

*Dangor breaks SA records. Mohammed-Raees Dangor from the south broke multiple power lifting records at the championship.
