World Cup displayed at Southgate Mall

South African Coca-Cola brand manager Mikael Kgatlhane said that the security was very tight at the Mall because the trophy is priceless.

MONDEOR – The 18 carat gold trophy was displayed at Southgate Mall on Monday and Tuesday, December 2 and 3 respectively

before it headed for Brazil on Friday, December 6 for the 2014 World Cup in Rio de Janeiro. From there the trophy will head to Saudi Arabia after the draw.

This fabulous tour of the trophy was organised by long time Fifa sponsor Coca-Cola who has been sponsoring the world stage tournament since the first World Cup in Uruguay in 1930.

South African Coca-Cola brand manager Mikael Kgatlhane said that the security was very tight at the Mall because the trophy is priceless.

“The 140-day tour started in September and will end in Brazil next year May. We have visited Brazil, the United States, the Middle East, Ghana, Kenya and Tanzania. The trophy will give the general public the essence of the World Cup event even though it has passed some few months ago,” he said.
