Christmas light tour – let’s share the joy

It is that time of the year again and everyone is looking forward to Christmas and the joy it brings.

JOHANNESBURG – One of those small joys, to the delight of young and old, is the magic of Christmas lights.

It is time to start publishing addresses of folks decorating for those who will be home for Christmas, to share the pleasure of an evening out, driving from home to home, with their families.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH:

Glenvista:

11 Ferox Drive (from 19:00 to 22:00).

Robertsham:

21 Huxton Road (from 18:30 to 22:30 until January 3).

Turffontein:

83A Ferreira Street (from 19:00 to 22:00 until January 4).

The Hill:

4 Hain Road (lights will be on until December 31 from 19:00 to 21:00, weather permitting),

Tulisa Park:

112 South Rand Road (lights are on daily from 19:00 to 21:30 on condition that it does not rain),

ALBERTON:

Brackenhurst:

44 Chrissie Street lights will go on from December 15 to January 3 between 19:00 and 22:00 with something special for the children.

The gate will be open on December 22, 23 and 24 for the little ones to view the lights up close and be treated to something sweet from Santa.

A word from the homeowner: “What an amazing feeling it is to see the children’s faces and the joy and excitement that the lights bring to them!”.

28 Jakkals Street (lights already on between 18:30 and 22:00), 27 Jakkals Street, Brackenhurst (lights already on from 18:30)

Mayberry Park:

4 Besembos Street, Mayberry Park (already on); 3 Groendoring Street (lights will be burning from 19:00 to 21:30 until end of December),

Brackendowns:

58 Neville Road, 24 Andries Street.

EMPERORS PALACE:

The mesmerising Garden of Lights will be on display from sunset to 22:00 daily from December 6 to January 5, weather permitting.

This delightful wonderland will provide an evening of fun and entertainment in the garden of the D’oreale Grande hotel. Entry into the garden is free and children are welcome to take pictures with Santa and his friends.

Monetary and toy donations will be accepted at the gate for a local charitable organisation. To enquire if the garden is open, please contact 011 928 1000.
