Aspen Hills gets spooky on Halloween

The spiritual and physical worlds aligned on October 31, allowing Southern spirits to join the living for some supernatural partying.

WALKING skeletons, ghouls, goblins, age-old wizards, ghosts and witches from the South came out in their numbers for Halloween.

While youngsters went around the haunted streets of Aspen Hills Estates, their parents in tow all of them trick or treating, some just wanted to show off their creative costumes for attendee’s admiration in hopes of winning first prize for the top three best dressed costumes 2013.

There was plenty entertainment at the clubhouse at the main event on November 1, hosted by residents, where young ones enjoyed the fun which included a rotating swing set, stilt men, spinning fire tactics, fun games, music and more.

Pupils of Marist Brothers in Linmeyer Heath Slater, Siobhan Slater, Jovah Slater and Alaan Bava couldn’t contain their excitement at the evenings activities, even challenging each other on the mechanical bull, seeing who would last the longest.

The background of All Hallows’ Eve (October 31) is a day which is said to be associated with the Catholic All Saints Day also known as All Hallows’ Day (Halloween Day) on November 1 and 2, reportedly marks the day that Christians held vigils, collectively praying for saints in heaven as well as the departed souls who have not yet reached heaven.
