New post for JSB CEO

Vangile Nyamathe has been with the JSB for over a decade.

REGENTS PARK – CEO, of JHB Society for the Blind, Vangile Nyamathe appointed to the board of the South African Library for the Blind.

Ms Vangile Nyamathe has been appointed to serve on the board of the South African Library for the Blind (SALB) for the period 2013 to 2016 by the Minister of Arts and Culture in the Cabinet of South Africa, Mr Paul Mashatile.

The appointment took effect from October 1. Vangile has been at the helm of JSB for close to a decade and has co-authored and presented papers at a number of conferences advocating for the rights and abilities of people with visual impairment.

The appointment to the SALB Board is in terms of the South African Library for the Blind Act (1998). The SALB has a service delivery history of more than 94 years in the provision of a free library and information service that is responsive to the needs of the Blind and Visually Impaired people of South Africa and further afield.
