Going for the Gold for next year’s big championship

Alberton gymnast is aiming for the best.

TRAMPOLINE gymnast, Zander Breedt has been jumping for seven years and has reached the top/level of his skill by achieving Central Gauteng colours (jumping for South Africa) in age category 13-14. Training sessions are to prepare him for the events of next year in which he will be competing with all districts of the country.

The intricate technique of this act is a high jump that lifts you up in the air and as you plunge downwards, your heart jumps right back up into your throat. It is scary, not just an ordinary trampoline. From flips and turns, and all acrobatics in mid-air, it is precision that sets mind in order to achieve accurate results.

As his training progresses/develops strongly for the 2014 Indoor Pacific championship, which is specifically for trampoline and double mini trampoline, he also works towards competing in the Jannie Jansen competition which will be held in Pretoria at Tuks University, June 2014.

Having 30 gold medals to his name, 21 silver and 15 bronze, including his set of trophies, Zander aims to jump all the way to the top.

For those who are unaware of the clothing formation involved with this type of sport, the long pants are used for the Euro trampoline and the short pants are used for the double mini trampoline.

Simphiwe Mosoang (Zander’s trainer) has been jumping for almost all of his life and had given that up to inspire and coach young individuals who aspire to become Senior Proteas. His enthusiasm will help Zander to the top. -Pierre Kruger
