Community come together for braai

Getting to know you!

GLENVISTA: Glenvista Community Forum and Glenvista ext 4 community held a bring and braai on Saturday October 26 at Donnington Drive Park, to encourage residents to get to know each other.

“There was a great turnout and everyone got to know each other better. Residents who hadn’t met previously were introduced to each other and there really was a good vibe,” said Mike Hill, one of the organisers.

Ward 23 Councillor Paul Smit popped in and he said, “This is a brilliant idea. Well done to the organisers for all your hard work.”

Thanks to Mike Hill who contacted City Parks, two sets of park tables and benches and two phuti bins have been put into the park. “We had them cemented in in the hope they won’t take a walk,” laughed Mike!

“We’d like to take this opportunity to thank City Parks for all their hard work and it will be greatly appreciated if they can clear the building rubble which is still lying in the park,” added Mike.

A super day, with great weather, community spirit and a chance to get to know each other better.
