An eventful day for the November sun

Futura school and a craft market event.

FUTURA School, Ridgeway gives disabled learners the opportunity to overcome their barriers by focusing on education and skills. Any learner with ADHD, ADD, slow learning capabilities, etc. is welcome to join the fun-loving environment.

The learners get referred by the Gauteng Department of Education. The learners are able to learn all the necessary subjects- English, Afrikaans, etc. and are additionally taught a skill which includes beadwork, sewing (boys and girls), knitting (boys and girls), block making, mosaic, gardening and cooking which is fundamental to their growing environment.

The school is not area specific so all learners from major regions are welcome.

There will be an annual craft market held in Alberton at Sha-Mani Lodge, Newmarket from October 31 to November 3 where all family and friends can shop and browse with over 120 exhibitors on site.

There will be food, kiddies playground, gifts and more. Entrance fee: R20 for all four days. Times are 09:00 to 15:00 for weekdays and 09:00 to 19:00 for weekends. Keep your calendars and diaries open.
