Domestic Watch year end function draws close

Someone, somewhere, somehow knows something about crime.

DOMESTIC workers from Glenvista and other sectors in the south of Johannesburg, who undertook to inform themselves further with crime prevention lessons, will be given the recognition they deserve at a Domestic Watch Year end event.

“This year we have 20 suburbs attending the big event and MEC of Gauteng Department of Safety and Security, Honourable Faith Mazibuko has agreed to be our VIP,” revealed coordinator and writer of the crime prevention lessons, Penny Steyn.

Johannesburg South Domestic Watch coordinator, Sarah Wissler, said Domestic Watch certificates are to be handed over to the domestics and gardeners on November 21 at the Rosebank Union Church Corner of William Nicol and Sandton Drives Hurlingham, in honour of their participation as regular attendees at the meetings.

“Ticket sales for the year end function are R100 per ticket and can be purchased from myself either by phoning 083 256 3453 or by e-mail at sarah@domesticwatch.co.za Those who want tickets can come to Jungle Rumble at Panorama shopping centre or at New South Veterinary clinic on Biggersberg Road in Glenvista on November 1 from 12:00 to 13:30.”

The year-end lunch will be held at Little Italy in Glenanda on November 21 on 30 Joan Road, after the year end function,at a cost R110 for a three course meal and cold drinks.

“Residents are requested to donate any sort of gift to the yearend function for us to give the Police for their support of the domestic watch. These can be dropped off with me and residents can contact me on my cell phone or e-mail,” added Sarah.

Reportedly, buses will be provided for the attendees to be honoured, with the pick-up zone being at Jungle Rumble and New South Vet at 08:00 to 08:15. The buses will leave at 09:00 and organisers say the transportation will not wait for anyone. Your ticket will get you entry into the bus.
