Advocate Steve Kekana takes over the reins at JHB Society for the Blind

He is a Tshwane University of Technology alumnus with B Juris and LLB degrees.

STEVE Kekana, an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa is the new chairman of the Board of Directors at Johannesburg Society for the Blind (JSB).

He currently lectures in Labour Law at the University of South Africa. Advocate Kekana is also a renowned Mbaqanga artist with a musical career spanning decades. Among his popular songs is ‘Take your love and keep it.’

In his first address to the new Board of directors, Advocate Kekana, who lost his sight when he was five years old, thanked the out-going board for their resilience and contribution in meeting the needs of people with visual impairment. He declared that under his watch he would ensure that JSB would ‘accomplish the job of service delivery’.

JSB, which is located in Regents Park, is committed to promoting the rights and abilities of visually impaired people through rehabilitation programmes, education and the provision of skills and resources for independent living.
