GALLERY: Del Forno Glenanda sponsors young aspiring model
Young Phoebe shines in the spotlight.
PHOEBE Mashinini is a five-year-old aspiring model at Figures Model Glenvista who has big dreams.
However, finding a sponsor for her dreams was a huge struggle until her mother, Wendy, turned to John Gouveia, owner of Del Forno Glenanda.
Fondly known by community members as Mr G, he did not hesitate to give his all and became Phoebe’s sponsor for National Model of the Year by Figures Models.
The family hosted Phoebe’s fifth birthday at Del Forno and have since become close friends with Mr G.
“Little Phoebe has a bright future, and if I can help her, then why not?” Mr G asked.
Phoebe was a finalist for face of the year for girls aged two to six, which was the first competition she entered in May this year.
She made it to the top five in the International Model of the Year competition.
She also won first place best dressed at the previous Figures Models Glenvista Showcase.
Now Phoebe is a semi-finalist for national model of the year. The finals will be held at the Roodepoort Theatre on November 29.
Wendy comes from a background of modelling and still models.
She has modelled for the Kingklip Agency as a youngster and joined Figures Models Glenvista in 2015.
After matric, in 2018 she signed with Rage Model Management.
She has always kept a very good relationship with Figures Models Glenvista and they always wanted Phoebe to be one of their young models.
Wendy spends a lot of time training Phoebe.
“Phoebe has a true love for modelling and loves to practise,” she added.
Through being a finalist in the finals and her performance, she has become a potential winner of the Project Aim Cruise, where the children are exposed to international modelling agencies.
“Figures Model Glenvista makes sure the children feel good about themselves, and Phoebe loves her teachers. She has a real passion for modelling,” Wendy added.
Phoebe is a shy, introverted girl, but when she gets on stage she shines. This little dynamite is one to watch.
