Which is better: packed lunch or tuck shop?

JOURNALISTS ventured into the community to ask learners whether they think a packed lunch or tuck shop money is better.

CAITLYN CONNELL: “I prefer getting a packed lunch because I get food I like. The tuck shop is also very expensive, so packed lunches are better on the budget as well.”

Here are some opinions.

HLONI TWALA: “My choice is getting a packed lunch. I know what my mom is capable of making. I love my mom’s food and in my opinion, it’s the best you can get.”

OMPHA MUKUMELA: “I dig tuck shop money because it provides more options on what to get for lunch. Also, lunch boxes can make a schoolbag heavy to carry.”

JADE CONRADIE: “A packed lunch is my preference because the tuck shop queues are so long that one often ends up without purchasing food before recess is over.”

MBALI SIBISI: “I prefer lunch boxes to money for tuck shop. It’s just a lot cheaper for parents, as not everyone can afford tuck shop for their children every day.”
