Kamanga vs Zhailauov

The rematch will take place on December 1 at Emperors Palace.

GOLDEN Gloves Promotions in partnership with the home of boxing, Emperors Palace, and African Ring will host the Christmas Cracker boxing tournament at Emperors Palace on Tuesday, December 1.

The attention of many pugilists on the evening will fall on Paul Kamanga, who has shown loyalty to the WBA and will take centre stage in his bout against Roman Zhailauov of Kazakhstan for his second WBA Pan Africa welterweight title. Kamanga, from the Box Office, will want to extend his unbeaten 17 fights streak in the ring when he takes on Zhailauov, who himself has a handy record of only one loss in 16 fights which he sustained in his last outing to South Africa against Thompson Mokwana, also a Southern boxer.

Roman’s brother, Dair, will be making his debut in South Africa and is on the undercard. Southerners Jason Bedeman and Warren Joubert will also take to the ring.

The undercard will see the likes of Deejay Kriel, Joshua Studdard and debutant Cowin Ray, son of well-known Alberton boxer, Basil Ray. Brandon Thysse, son of well-known former boxer Andre Thysse, will feature on the undercard as well.

At the evening matchmaker of Golden Gloves Promotions, Ruben Rasodi, will be honoured for his four decade dedication to boxing. Rasodi has been with Golden Gloves for 35 years.
