Victim shot during Liefde en Vrede hijacking

LIEFDE EN VREDE – A hijacking in Liefde en Vrede, on October 13, has left the community concerned about their safety after suspects seized a white Mercedes C180.

According to a twitter alert by @crimeairnetwork, the hijacking took place at Mall of the South, on Swartkoppies Road, where one victim was shot and another taken hostage.

Mondeor SAPS communications officer, Constable Elizabeth Mnguni, said: “I cannot provide all the information currently, however I can confirm that the incident did not happen at Mall of the South but it was in Liefde en Vrede at about 20:40. The hijacked vehicle was parked outside a tuck shop and while one of the passengers was out purchasing goods at the tuck shop, he heard a scuffle and hurried to the vehicle.”

The resident saw that the driver of the white Mercedes C180 being hijacked by suspects who were allegedly driving a white VW Golf GTI. One of the victims was shot. The victim’s condition could not be confirmed by SAPS.
