Ex-policeman, turned robber, apprehended in Mondeor

A robber, who is an ex-policeman, and who is thought to have been terrorising the community in Mondeor with violent house robberies and break-ins, was caught on Thursday afternoon, September 3, in Brabazon Avenue, Mondeor.

MONDEOR – According to Michelle Pelser from Mondeor Community Policing Forum, who the Comaro CHRONICLE had contacted, was on the scene, and said the robber and his two accomplices were cornered by a member of the community, who was then threatened with a pick axe. The youngster’s father fortunately arrived to stop the robbers attacking his son.

Two of the robbers managed to escape but couldn’t take their vehicle, a Nissan, as the key broke off in the lock as they were trying to get away.

The robber who was caught claims the vehicle is not his. He was arrested by Mondeor SAPS and taken to Mondeor Police Station.
