Communities gear up for Carling League of Champions

Carling Black Label League in full swing.

South African communities are gearing up for another football spectacle as Carling Black Label will once again celebrate the efforts of ordinary men when the 2015 Carling League of Champions kicks-off on Saturday, June 13, at the Langa Grounds in Nyanga township.

The fourth edition of this exciting football festival will be contested by 60 teams from across the country. Once again, the round-robin structured football tournament will see the winners pocketing a R30 000 prize, accompanied by an all-expenses paid trip to the 2015 Carling Black Label Cup match between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates at the FNB stadium.

Leading up to the prize, the tournament will give players and fans an unforgettable professional football experience in their very own communities by providing high quality Puma branded soccer kits, qualified referees and live entertainment from local artists and commentators. The tournament will be staged at different provinces with each provincial winner being transported to Johannesburg for the ultimate showdown.

In line with the Carling Black Label football story, coaches of the six teams who reach the champions final’s weekend will automatically qualify to take part in the 2015 edition of the Carling Black Label Coach the Coaches programme. The coaching programme is a partnership between SAFA and Carling Black Label which seeks to upskill the coaching abilities of men in the most remote places through a SAFA C-Level coaching course, conducted by highly qualified SAFA coaching instructors.

Fans are urged to come early to the games as there will be plenty of entertainment and prizes lined up for the day.
