A resident of Dreyer Avenue, Rhona Jones, spoke to the CHRONICLE and said cars speed along Vallot Street. “For many months I’ve been contacting JMPD and Ward 23 councillor, Paul Smit, about having speed humps put into the road, but to no avail. I’m surprised there haven’t been more accidents in Vallot Street.”

Another resident who lives on Vallot Street, said, “Turning into my driveway is a nightmare. I always put my indicator on and I can’t tell you how many times my car has nearly been hit by speeding motorists. Something needs to be done here to slow motorists down. There are three  town house complexes on Vallot Street, so traffic is quite heavy at times, especially first thing in the morning and late afternoon.”

We’ll update you if more information becomes available on casualties.
