MONDEOR – On November 21 at 19:00 a complainant parked his motor vehicle and went to close the gate in Alveda Park when four African men approached him, pointing firearms at him.
The suspects then pushed the victim into the house, where they tied up the whole family before taking jewellery, cellphones and a laptop. The suspects took the victim’s vehicle and parked it outside.
Mondeor SAPS officers who were patrolling the area noticed a vehicle parked in the middle of the road and they went inside to speak to the owner of the house. The suspects saw the police and made a getaway in different directions.
One suspect was arrested, the others managed to get away. The suspect was detained for house robbery and possession of illegal firearm. The 20-year-old man appeared at the Johannesburg Magistrates Court on November 24.
