Kaizer Chiefs scoop another ABSA PSL monthly award

Kaizer Chiefs player and coach receive ABSA Premiership awards.

ABSA Premiership log-leaders Kaizer Chiefs have once again scooped the ABSA Premiership Player and Coach of the Month award as defender Tefu Mashamaite and head coach Stuart Baxter take the honours for September and October.

As only a handful of ABSA Premiership fixtures took place in September and October, the PSL and ABSA agreed to merge the two months into a joint award, and Stuart Baxter and Tefu Mashamaite will each receive R5 000, courtesy of ABSA, for their efforts during this period that has seen Kaizer Chiefs set the pace at the top of the log.

Amakhosi, led by Baxter, who remains unbeaten in ten league matches this season, won three matches and drew one fixture during the judging period.

Mashamaite, meanwhile, has been a critical component to the team’s defence, and has played a crucial leadership role in the absence of club captain Itumeleng Khune.

Kaizer Chiefs had a record-breaking start to the ABSA Premiership season and clearly have their sights firmly set on winning another ABSA Premiership title.
