You don’t need a reason to help people

We have arranged a special drive to collect these much needed items called the 'Rustenburg Saviours Food Drive'.

We would like to make a call on all residents and companies in Ekurhuleni and the southern suburbs of Johannesburg. We will be hosting a food drive for the thousands of households who are currently suffering in Rustenburg due to the ongoing strikes.

There are many households that suffer directly and indirectly from these strikes and we call upon people to donate the following items: breakfast cereals, mieliemeel, long-life milk, sugar, soup powders, pastas, tinned food, baby formula, nappies, toiletries, cleaning goods, sauces, spreads for bread and any other non-perishable foods.

We were motivated by a strory written by a journalist from Rustenburg who experienced first-hand what the reality is and what it takes to survive – describing the need of many households affected by these strikes even when they are not part of it. We feel that us as a community, can make a difference where it matters most.

We have arranged a special drive to collect these much needed items called the ‘Rustenburg Saviours Food Drive’. Donations can be dropped off on June 21 at the Crusaders Club House, corner of Wemmerpan and Victoria streets, Regents Park. Gates open at 10:00.

We ask you to join us on the day as there might be a few surprises. If you cannot make it on the day you are more than welcome to contact us to collect. For more information or to arrange for collection of your donations, please contact Alexia 079 650 6345 or Yolandi 079 466 8277.

And remember: You don’t need a reason to help people.
