Tree blocked Bellefield Avenue Mondeor

On Thursday evening March 13 at about 17:00, a huge tree fell over in Bellefield Avenue, Mondeor completely blocking the road.

MONDEOR – Galen Son, a resident of Bellefield Avenue, contacted City Parks and was told they would send someone out at about 21:30.

“City Parks never came and it was a danger with the tree blocking the road close by the bend. Ward 54 Councillor, Sergio Dos Santos came out and Michelle Pelser and patrollers from Mondeor Community Policing Forum. I have a chain saw so together we managed to cut up the tree and pull the bottom of the trunk to the side of the road. I’d really like to express our thanks to them for assisting us,” said Galen.

More trees look likely to fall in Bellefield Avenue, Mondeor.

Galen’s neighbour Margaret Roos, said, “I’d like to thank Michelle Pelser and Mondeor Community Policing Forum for all their help in cutting up the tree, as well as Clr Dos Santos. Michelle and her team went beyond the call of duty.”

“My greatest concern is all the overhanging trees which like they could fall over at any time. City Parks need to get out here urgently and assess the situation,” added Galen.
