Lusito’s Christmas wishes granted

A huge thank you from the Lusito Association for your contribution and it is inspiring to see our youth getting involved in our community.

THE HILL: Two Grade 11 learners, Miguel Martins and Mpume Naves-Shongwe from Marist Brothers Linmeyer have made Christmas a special one for some of Lusito School’s less fortunate learners.

As part of the school’s outreach project, the high school learners are encouraged to get involved in community projects. Miguel and Mpume form part of a long-standing group, the co-workers, this group visits orphanages, old age homes and shelters on a regular basis, and strives to improve the situation of the people they come into contact with by supplying food, clothing and Christmas gifts.

Miguel and Mpume raised money through a cake and candy sale and went out to buy Christmas gifts for some of the learners at the Lusito School.
