10 000 nourishing meals coming up

As the year draws to a close and the festive season is upon us, the Meals on Wheels team get ready to close the year with a big bang!

JOHANNESBURG – On November 21 they are planning on having their last CSI Team-building and Networking experience for 2013 with all their sponsors and partners. The aim is to prepare 10 000 hot nourishing meals for those less fortunate in Gauteng, Vaal Triangle and Pretoria.

Meals on Wheels’ team aims to have 15 different companies participate in the Annual Cook-off Competition. Confirmed teams consist of a number of ABSA employees, Peugeot South Africa, Staff of Africa, Rhodes Food Group, Standard Bank.

The volunteers will be welcomed by the Meals on Wheels team and then have Drum Tribe captivate them with a thrilling, exciting drumming experience. The group will then be allocated their work stations and their culinary skills will be put to the test. Each group will comprise six team members who will be required to chop, peel, spice, cook and then deliver the meals.

They will be judged on their hygiene, cleanliness, appearance of the food and the taste of the food. Meals on Wheels will have a fleet of vehicles to deliver the food to the below areas. They will also have a fleet of Quantum’s and 21 seaters which will transport the volunteers to the allocated areas where the food will be given out to the less fortunate.

Meals on Wheels Community Services would like to invite you to be part of this wonderful day and participate in the activities.

Please confirm if you are able to join them on November 21. Should you have any questions, please contact Michelle 016 362 2562 or 082 410 3576 or michelle@mealsonwheels.co.za
