Organisation puts a smile on moms’ faces

Africa Community Thusa brought joy to new mothers at South Rand Hospital by donating baby support packs.

Africa Community Thusa (ACT) donated baby support packs at South Rand Hospital, helping more than 20 moms.

ACT has been serving and supporting local communities for over 15 years, building relationships with other service organisations in the area.

Tammy du Plooy of the ACT said: “Supplying new moms with baby support packs is one of our most rewarding projects.”

ACT relies on public donations and volunteer efforts to pack and deliver these support packs.

Du Plooy added: “Many of the new moms don’t have much for their babies including toiletries, a blanket, or clothing. The teddy or fluffy toy and knitted items are always such a joy for the mom. We try going on a regular basis, but it all depends on what donations we receive.”

ACT urges the community to assist the organisation with toiletries, knitted items or fluffy toys to help them continue making a difference.
