Mulbarton Remedial School marks 20 years of excellence in education

Mulbarton Remedial School has a rich vibrant history in the community it serves.

Mulbarton Remedial School (MRS) celebrates 20 amazing years this year with the empathic, innovative and creative staff who has taught two decades of truly wonderful and creative children.

Throughout it all, the focus has always been on what is done today determines the children’s tomorrow.

The MRS learners have so many exciting memories of fun days when they did drumming or went to Sci-Bono, building go-karts at school and their Alice in Wonderland year after Covid-19.

The learners have always participated in a variety of activities over the years. Additionally, they take part in athletics, soccer, cross-country, chess, poetry and art against local schools and hold their own in every field.

Principal Pat van In highlighted: “Some of our talented learners have participated and excelled in robotics with Lego League, been selected for the Gauteng chess team, won art competitions, ran for our district in athletics and cross-country to name a few.

Every year has been enormous fun with new ideas, new experiences and so many exciting activities.”

A vital part of the teachings at MRS includes reaching out to those who are less fortunate in the community. From giving up time to chat to the elderly, to collecting bread tags for a wheelchair, to makingg soup meals and even donating their toys, the learners are compassionate in helping those in need.

“As we look ahead, Mulbarton Remedial School continues to blaze a trail not only through impactful teaching but by empowering the wonderful young people who are our future,” said Van In.
