DEOPR receives elderly walking aids

The Directorate Enforcing Older Persons Rights (DEOPR) caring facility was grateful to receive donations of walking aids from Ons Winkel on August 19.

For close to a decade, Alberton North’s Ons Winkel has continuously made much-needed donations of walking aids to the Directorate Enforcing Older Persons Rights (DEOPR) caring facility.

On August 19, the DEOPR caring facility thankfully received donations of walking sticks, crutches and walking frames.

This will help offer increased support to the DEOPR seniors, making their walks safe. This charity store supported the DEOPR for eight years by collecting walking aids and with various donations.

They have previously donated hospital beds, nappies and books for the organisation and they intend to collect walking aids on a continuous basis.

Josef Els of DEOPR thanked Ons Winkel for their generous donation.

Should you wish to support Ons Winkel towards their drive by donating pre-loved or new walking aids, contact Ons Winkel’s Frans Burger on 072 690 2030.
