A garden of kindness opens in Mondeor

Good food, convenience and kindness go hand in hand at Steers Columbine Crossing Drive Thru.

On August 17, the Steers drive-thru at Columbine Crossing held a soft launch to celebrate being under new management as of August 1.

Existing customers and members of the community showed their support. Owner and seasoned franchisee Kabira Dewan said: “Customers will always receive excellent service, quality products, value for money and convenience when going through the drive-thru.”

Additionally, a unique feature has been added to the store outside, a Kindness Rock feature garden. The garden is the creation and passion of 11-year-old author, Razina Dewan, who co-wrote the book Kindness Rocks for Beginners with her mother.

The purpose is to inspire creativity and spread happiness. People of all ages paint and decorate rocks with pictures or quotes and then hide them for others to find and pay kindness forward.

“Imagine changing the world one rock at a time by injecting kindness and selflessness into a world focused on the opposite,” is the legacy the mother and daughter duo aspire towards.

The community and customers had the opportunity to take a Kindness Rock from the garden with the invitation to return with a painted rock creation and place it back in the garden for others to enjoy.

Schools in Johannesburg south are invited to make a booking to visit the unique garden at no cost.
