Coach Carr ready to guide SA youth team at MMA competition in Abu Dhabi

IMMAF youth world tournament sees countries from around the world competing in Abu-Dhabi, where the best of the best fight to represent their country at the highest level.

Coach Shane Carr is preparing for the 2024 International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) competition, at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

IMMAF 2024 is a five-day event scheduled from August 6 to 10.

Carr has been involved in martial arts for most of his life and has been the head coach and partner at Valhalla MMA & Fitness Alberton North, for over 12 years.

He also created champions in MMA, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and submission grappling on both the amateur and pro circuits.

Carr is an internationally qualified coach with the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation and the Gracie Barra Jiu-Jitsu. He is one of the Gauteng and South African youth team coaches, earning his Protea colours for MMA Coaching.

2024 sees the SA youth team stepping up to the plate to bring glory to South Africa on the international stage.

Carr, who will accompany the SA youth team, needs funds to travel to Abu Dhabi, where he will train and guide them during their stay in the UAE and when they compete with other youth from around the world.

The cost breakdown includes flights, tournament entry as a coach, accommodation, food and team off-site travel, taxi fares, team attire, team training attire and team training kit at R40 000.

Sponsors don’t have to cover the entire cost; partial sponsors would make a huge difference.
