Southern Suburbs Camera Cub announces June winning images

If you have an interest in photography, the Southern Suburbs Camera Club is a great place to pursue it.

The winning images from the recent Southern Suburbs Camera Club June meeting were shot by senior top nature photographer, Dr Ben Botha and the junior image of the evening by Trevor Trump.

“Birds and Buffalo was shot early morning on the Chobe River in Botswana using a Canon 5D and 600mm f4 prime lens,” said Dr Botha.

“The buffalo was feeding on river grass and was irritated by the birds. It shook its head to get rid of the birds and that’s when I took the shot.”

Warming Up by Trevor Trump

Trevor Trump’s image, Warming Up was shot in winter, during a photographic tour with Big 5 Photos while on a game drive at Marula Private Camp.

“The tree squirrels were warming up after a very chilly evening and I shot the scene using my Canon EOS80 coupled with a Sigma 150-500mm lens,” said Trump.

Southern Suburbs Camera Club welcomes all photography enthusiasts and amateurs at monthly meetings held on the second Thursday monthly at Glenvista Country Club. For more information contact the chairlady, Anneke Preto on 084 406 4990.
