Joburg south fitness centre celebrates opening of its new premises

48 Jump Street has relocated to new premises because of its rapid growth in Johannesburg south.

48 Jump Street in Johannesburg south celebrated the launch of its new premises on the corner of 41 Dormehl and Hennie Alberts streets in Brackenhurst on June 1.

This comes after the centre saw enormous growth over the past three years and the old venue became too small to accommodate its clients.

The event allowed all existing and new clients to join with free entry and experience two 30-minute rebound sessions.

The event had a pop-a-balloon competition, and people on rebounders at the side of the road, “jumping” for passing cars.

The day’s announcement of the three winners of the pop-a-balloon competition was the highlight. They received unlimited sessions for one month, 48 Jump Street water bottles and a 48 Jump Street cooling towel.

48 Jump Street started operating on March 1, 2021, in Brackendowns under the management of Viola Reynders.

“Having a family that is all about sports and being a sports fanatic myself, I have always wanted something I could call my own.

“My husband, Herman Reynders, is a well-known hurdle and sprint coach. Both my daughters play netball, among other sports. When rebounding came up, I knew this was for me.

Attendees have fun during a rebound session.

“I tried it out myself and started reading articles and watching videos to ensure I knew what I was doing. After many months of studying the type of fitness and realising how incredibly good it is for you, I took the next step and started a small studio at home.

“In a very short time, it started growing into two studios. I can honestly say I am living my dream. This made me want to share these exercises with like-minded people.”

48 Jump Street offers full-body workouts throughout various fitness groups, such as rebounding, Tabata, endurance, glute, and core exercises. The centre also provides time to do circuit training.

According to Reynders, all these exercises are performed on the rebounder and incorporate dumbbells, resistance bands, and ankle weights. They are suitable for all ladies and gents of every fitness level.
