Keready and Brackenhurst clinic tackles mental health
Public servants working together to emphasise the importance of mental health for a healthier community.
Brackenhurst Clinic hosted an open day for mental health awareness in commemoration of World Mental Health Day.
The theme of the day was colours of green, which represented awareness about suicide and substance abuse.
The organisers reached out to the community to join as they raised awareness of mental health issues and mobilised efforts to support mental health.
Community members participated in the awareness walk and listened to the motivational speakers.
Keready Mobile Clinic and various stakeholders were on site offering their services to the public and staff.
Head nurse Sibongile Mhlophe said, “Collectively the stigma can end, and open talks about mental health can take place.”
