Clr Crichton urges residents to take the necessary steps pending the water shutdown
Clr Crichton said the South Hills Water tower was the only one Joburg Water could guarantee would not be affected by the 55-hour water shutdown.
With the 55-hour water shutdown starting on July 11 in parts of Johannesburg, the only tower Joburg Water could guarantee would not be affected was the South Hills Water Tower.
That meant the Forest Hill Water Tower would most likely be affected by water pressure throttling or no water supply.
Please take the necessary precautions. I’m pushing them to provide as many water trucks as possible in the ward, and I’ll try to confirm locations.
There is also a traffic advisory for those travelling on South Rand Road. Joburg Water will use the South Hills Water Tower to fill up the water trucks, so expect a lot of trucks on that road during this time.
I’m also not sure if using the South Hills Water Tower to fill water trucks en mass will affect the supply coming from that tower, so those residents should take precautions as well.
