The aim was to raise funds for young artists to perform the play The Stories We See at the National Arts Festival in Makhanda (Grahamstown) from 22 to July 2.

The fundraiser was entertaining, and a sense of community was evident when they rallied behind the artists. A talented art group demonstrated their skills and creativity.

Attendees saw how dedicated and passionate the artists were about their craft.

The event also included engaging activities that celebrated the spirit of youth and creativity.

Gcebile Dlamini, the play’s director, said they were proud of their art group for being invited to perform at the festival.

Nkosana Kubheka, the COO of the society, said the event was a platform for the community to unite and support these individuals on their journey to the festival.

“The event proceeds covered travel expenses, lodging, and other necessities, allowing the art group to participate in the National Art Festival and showcase their talents nationally,” said Kubheka.
