Ligstad grateful for community support

Ligstad and community organisations unite to warm hearts.

As winter settles in Gauteng for the next few months, our hearts at Ligstad are filled with warmth and gratitude.

We are thrilled to collaborate with other organisations in our beautiful town, enabling us to embark on programmes and projects that would have been impossible on our own. Just as we find comfort in each other’s presence during the cold season, utilising our collective body heat, we are more effective when we pool our resources and efforts to serve the community.

A shining example of this unity was witnessed during the annual Street Store, which Ligstad proudly hosted on May 20.

Countless organisations and individuals joined forces, dedicating their strength, time, resources, and above all, their love for God and the community. It was a remarkable sight as 1 250 individuals were able to shop freely at the Street Store, thanks to the collaborative efforts of all involved.

The entire Ligstad team selflessly sacrificed their Saturday morning to serve in their own unique ways. To my second family at Ligstad, I extend my heartfelt gratitude. I would go to war with you all.

A special word of thanks goes to Doxa Deo Meyersdal and the 200-plus volunteers from various organisations in Alberton. It is an honour to be part of this team that witnesses the working of the Holy Spirit before, during, and after the Street Store event on May 20.

We give glory to God for entrusting us to be His vessels through projects like these. It is because of Him that hearts and hands were prepared to give and receive His grace.

God willing, we will continue this work next year, but in the meantime, our daily service at Ligstad continues.
