Wheel Well car seat donation drive at The Glen

Car seats can be dropped off during working hours and the campaign will continue throughout the year.

Group 1 Renault The Glen has partnered with Wheel Well for Children in road safety to do a car seat donation drive at the dealership on February 4 from 10:00 to 12:00.

Tandi Potgieter CEO of Icarus Media said Wheel Well will be handing over 20 donated car seats to anyone in need (for a small donation).

“You can also drop off your second-hand car seats to Group 1 Renault The Glen and enjoy a boerie roll with the team. Car Seats may be dropped off at any time during working hours as this campaign will continue throughout the year, said Tandi.

Wheel Well has devoted itself to the safety of children on the road.

According to Tandi, Peggie Mars, the organisation’s founder, realised that children were dying because their parents could not afford car seats or lacked knowledge about this child restraint system.

“Since then, over 10 000 car seats, all donated, cleaned and checked for safety, have helped kids to keep safe through the Car Seats for Kids campaign,” said Peggie.

Tandi said road deaths remain the leading external cause of our children, especially children under the age of 10.

“We appeal to motorists to use an appropriate and correctly installed car seat every time when transporting children – whether it is down the road or down to the coast” added Tandi.
