Vacant hospital buildings do not pose a safety risk.

Old hospital buildings not a concern of safety.

The Alberton Record received several enquiries about the old Netcare Clinton and Netcare Union Hospital buildings since they have been vacated.

Residents are concerned about the security around the buildings.

The newspaper contacted Netcare to ask what the plans are with the buildings.

Jacques du Plessis, managing director of Netcare’s hospital division, said that both properties will be going on auction at the end of October.

“Until the buildings are sold they are being properly secured by Netcare’s security service provider,” he said.

When we visited both premises, security officers were seen at both buildings.
