WATCH: Win a surprise hamper with goodies for children

Tad, the lost explorer, is once again on a whole new adventure in Tad, the Lost Explorer and the Emerald Tablet.

The sequel and new movie will be released on September 30 nationally.

Tad’s biggest dream is to be accepted by his archaeology colleagues, but his accident-prone nature gets in his way. When he inadvertently destroys a rare sarcophagus, a spell is cast, putting his friends’ lives in danger.

Saving Mummy, Jeff and Belzoni will trigger an action-packed adventure that will lead Tad and Sara to travel to the far corners of the world to find a way to stop the curse of the Emerald Tablet.

The third film in the action-packed series stars Trevor White, Joseph Balderrama, Alex Kelly, Pippa Bennett-Warner, Elena Sanz. Paramount and Mediterráneo present a Telecinco Cinema, Lightbox Animation Studios, Ikiru Films, La Tadeopelícula Aie, and Anangu Grup Production, with the participation of Mediaset España and Movistar+.

The film is directed by Enrique Gato, written by Josep Gatell and Manuel Burque, produced by Ghislain Barrois, Álvaro Augustin, Nico Matji, Edmon Roch, Marc Sabé and Javier Ugarte and with executive producer Mónica Iturriaga.

“Tad is now a remarkable 23 years old. He was born long before he was known to the general public, and I have spent half my life with him. I treat him almost like a son. A son that you guide until he manages to walk on his own, but you never stop teaching him that every step is important,” said director Enrique Gato.

“An animated feature film is always a mammoth journey of at least three or four years, and you have to be very sure that the journey is worth it. If the project has a “3” on its back, you undoubtedly think very carefully about this step, even more so if it is coupled with Tad’s name, who I cannot let down.

“With every film I like to make sure that there are new, unexpected ingredients that will surprise and keep the audience glued to their seats, waiting for the next scene. When you are dealing with part three of a saga, this task becomes more complicated, and it was clear to me that it was not going to be a bed of roses to find a new adventure for our hero.

“It took nearly two years of scriptwriting to put together a new story that would guarantee that Tad would have a well-deserved sequel. A sequel that does not simply take advantage of the inertia of the previous movies, but rather takes this saga up several notches.

“Today I can say that the decision I made years ago to commit to a third film has been worth it, and I couldn’t be prouder of all my fellow travellers who have made it possible. Together we have managed to take Tad to new heights of emotion, comedy and, of course, adventure. An adventure made for the audience, to be enjoyed in its purest form: at the cinema,” Gato concluded.
