Johannesburg Flying Squad arrest 17 suspects

Police appreciate the help from the community.

Johannesburg Flying Squad (JFS) members arrested 17 suspects for different crimes in different areas in Johannesburg and recovered one vehicle from June 10 to 13.

Among the arrested suspects, seven were for business burglary and possession of stolen property (copper cables), five for theft, two for attempted robbery and three for possession of drugs.

A stolen white Toyota Corolla was recovered.

JFS communications officer, special police officer Raymond Sambo said the investigation continues in all cases and working with the community led to these recoveries. “SAPS appreciates the public for their contribution. It should also be noted that information regarding the vehicles, people may contact the relevant detective quoting the relevant case number.

“The 17 suspects, aged between 25 and 38, appeared in different magistrate’s courts facing charges of business burglary and possession of stolen property, theft, attempted robbery and possession of drugs,” he said.
