Meet the new EISD MMC Clr Michael Sun
The EISD is responsible for City Power, Johannesburg Water and Pikitup, the City’s entities that play a key role in service delivery.
The City of Johannesburg would like to introduce the newly appointed Member of the Mayoral Committee for Environment and Infrastructure Services Department (MMC: EISD) councillor Michael Sun to the residents of Joburg.
Sun has served the City’s residents as a councillor since 2006 and is serving his fourth term in the council. He was also previously MMC for Public Safety from 2016 to 2019, where the City became remarkably safer and experienced a crime reduction.
The MMC is now taking the reins at the EISD and will steer the department to bring the City’s residents and businesses efficient and tangibly improved services.
The EISD is at the coalface of service delivery and is responsible for City Power, Johannesburg Water and Pikitup, the City’s entities that play a key role in service delivery.
The department is also responsible for the protection, conservation and management of the environment through the implementation of regulatory mechanisms and oversight of the City’s other Municipal Owned Entities (MoEs).
The City needs to protect the environment, reduce pollution and sustain a healthy ecosystem for both human and other beings.
Sun said, “Joburg must shine with new vigour, we will ensure that our residents feel the positive changes in service delivery.”
