You have the power to live your dreams

What really brings you joy, makes you purposeful, makes you feel you’re making a positive difference?

“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” – Pablo Picasso

What makes your eyes sparkle? Is it singing, dancing, playing a musical instrument or sport? Is it fixing something, growing something or building something? Do you have a knack for words, for language, for stories? What do people admire about you and have them say: “I wish I could do that”, yet it comes naturally and easily to you?

What do you love to do? Look forward to with eagerness and anticipation? What really brings you joy, makes you purposeful, makes you feel you’re making a positive difference?

Thomas Jefferson said: “If you want something you’ve never had, you must be willing to do something you’ve never done.”

So, in closing, three things to always remember when searching for your gift:

Stop comparing yourself to others. You’ll burn out in no time if you constantly measure your progress with someone else’s. You are unique, special and different. You’ve your own path that you need to run at your own pace.

Be patient. You can’t expect your gift to reach its full potential overnight. Forcing progress will only produce fruit that are premature, shoddy and bitter. Be willing to invest time and make room for disappointments and pain along the way; that’s how it is but it’s worth it.

Be willing to learn. Be a student of life. Swallow your pride and be ready to learn from everybody. Have a mentor and coach and be willing to be an apprentice. Accept that you don’t know everything and be willing to be taught. Learning is the best thing that can get you to mastery.

You have the power to live your dreams.
