GALLERY: Cakes for all seasons

Isabel Marques received a gold award overall in the novice section, with Cassandra Goodall, Liza Alexiou and Anabela Veirssimo all earning themselves bronze awards.

MEMBERS of the Wits South Branch, which is affiliated to the South African Cake Decorators’ Guild, recently entered the Four Seasons Sugarcraft Extravaganza novice section with some of their beautifully iced creations.

A bronze award was won by Liza Alexiou.

The Marula tree, which was made by many of the members, earned them a third place in the competition. The tree was exquisitely created to show four seasons of the tree’s life, spring, summer, autumn and winter. “It took us many hours to achieve all the intricate icing but was well worth it,” said Ursula Tizzone, chairperson of the Wits South Branch.
